Miniature Mohair Steiff Stuffed Toy
Montrealers have been spellbound by the Steiff mechanical displays in Ogilvy’s department store window every Christmastime since 1947. The McCord Museum is proud to carry on the tradition every winter by presenting one of the windows outdoors, to the great delight of passers-by on Sherbrooke Street, and another within the museum. Since 1880, Steiff has been making plush toys and collectibles that set the world standard for quality. The company is perhaps best-known for its bears -- Steiff invented the Teddy bear in 1902.
